Movin' In..... Again

Well here we are again dear friends, back at Central and all settled in to my new home. It was a much calmer move in than it was last year which was good, plus I had a very helpful young man to lift the heavy boxes (thanks Jared Ramey). And once the boxes were all brought up Mom and Emily unpacked while Grandam, Grandpa, Jared, and I went to Fred Meyers to pick up some last minute dorm room necessities. After words we headed out to lunch at Brooklyn's Pizzeria (rating for this restaurant in the ratings section), it was pretty yummy especially on Sundays when they have a pizza and salad bar buffet. So we had lunch and then headed back to my room for the final checks then after a fond farewell they headed out back home and I stayed behind to further my education.

Now this year my room is on the third floor and is one of the sought after corner rooms; it has a small walkway between the two wardrobes, two beds on the sides of the room along with the desks, and a bay window to let in lots of light. And because I am me and I want to live in luxury, I decided that I wanted to decorate my living space like a princess' chambers, I now have a curtained canopy around my bed, a headboard covered in fabric, hanging dragonfly lights, and lots of pictures. I also have control over the ethernet cords and cable cord (mwahaha) so I have set up my tv and my wii in the optimal position for being lazy.

Eventually Sarah (my roommate) showed up and the two of us worked on organizing and unpacking our stuff so that our room is all pretty. Then we watched a movie before finally turning in for the night because we were pooped out.

The next day we were perfectly content with just being lazy so she unpacked a bit more and I went to hang out with my other friends and check out their places. Nothing too exciting happened Monday night but that was the complete opposite of Tuesday.

Tuesday was our day to get everything prepared for the start of school. Sarah ran errands around campus and I traced out my schedule for a bit and biked around campus. Once I got back I waited for the gang to pick me up so we could go to Bite of the 'Burg. Bite of the 'Burg is a back to school street fare where a lot of the business around Ellensburg show off what they have to offer and hand out coupons so that students go to their businesses and buy their products or services. The best part is all of the free stuff; there is the usual pens, sunglasses, chapsticks, but there are also lots of restaurants that give out samples of what they have to offer (hence the name Bite of the 'Burg). So we loaded up on free swag and then headed off back home to sort out our goodies.

Then something happened that I don't care to admit. My friend Ramey came over to help me fix up my Wii (it was displaying only in black and white), I had tried everything I could think of and the internet wasn't helping me either. So she comes over and looks at my TV, and to my dismay she turns my TV and was like "Sarah you just plug them into this side and it will work." I was so done, because of course it started working after that.

Once that happened I got to play a bit of Pitfall before Sarah and I headed out shopping. Another thing that the town of Ellensburg does for the students of Central is the famous Fred Meyer Night. One night out of the year Fred Meyers hosts a massive bargain fest and party where students can come in and buy all of the things they want at a low price. Sarah and I of course (mostly me) don't have butt loads of free cash to spend so we were smart and made a list of what we needed so we could get in and out quickly though that was easier said than done. Now word of advice if you are going to the Fred Meyer Night make sure that you get there early because Sarah and I got there at around 10:30 and the line was all the way around to the back of the building. Then of course I realized that I did not have my ID card on me (which you must have in order to get in) so I had to send Sarah back to the house to get it. But even then by the time she got back I still was less than half way there. Eventually we got in and we fought our way through the current of people and got what we needed, then of course we had to stand in line forever to check out, but it was all worth it because I got a $50 pair of boots along with some other stuff for about $30.

Finally we made it home and decided that we just wanted to go to bed, so I laid out my clothes for the first day of school and then got all snuggled into bed and fell asleep.

Today dawned bright and early (too early if you ask me) and it was time to get ready for school. I put on my new clothes and made myself all pretty and then headed out to class. Now I was really excited for my first class but apparently there was no teacher assigned to teach us, so the class was cancelled for the day until the whole mess got sorted out. So I chilled for a bit before the rest of my classes started up. Now here I am writing to you lot waiting for my next adventure to begin.

Have a great rest of your week and as always Happy Reading!
