Winter Camp 2015

Image
This is the second camp I have gone to with my college church Chi Alpha and this was one to remember. Not only was our Chi Alpha there but Chi Alphas from all over the North West, Western was there, Bellevue Community College, University of Idaho, and Washington State University. I had a blast! The first night there we had our first amazing service, the whole series for the weekend was abiding in Christ. Meaning that we need to live a life near to Christ because then we can flourish. Once the service concluded my core girls and I decided that we wanted to head out to get something to eat after getting our beds set up. We piled into our perspective vehicles and headed out to the local IHOP for some late night goodies. I had a yummy Tropical Zinger and shared a strawberry crepe with my dear friend Sarah Compton. After our perspective meals were finished we headed back to camp to get some well needed rest. The next morning we woke up bright eyed and sort of bushy tailed (first nights a...

Into the Woods

Do you like burritos? Of course you do. Well here is a burrito of a movie. As the movie begins we are introduced to all of the key players: Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack (Daniel Huttlestone), and the Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt). Each one of them has their own reasons for going into the woods; Red is going to granny's, Cinderella wants to go the king's festival, and Jack has to sell off his cow to get some money for food. But the biggest quest is taken on by the Baker and his wife; the two of them are wishing for a child but they are unable to have one because of a curse placed on their house by the local witch (Meryl Streep). The witch tells them that in order to break the spell they need to obtain: the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, and the shoe as pure as gold and they have to get all of them in three nights. Though getting those four ingredients proves to be a lot ha...

Winter Break 2014-2015

Image
Really late with this post but I did a lot of fun stuff over winter break and I wanted to make sure I talked about it. (And forgive me if I miss stuff haha). Well the first few days of winter break I did not do much, mostly played Micah's Xbox and worked on Jared's Christmas present (which he loved by the way). I would have gone to Arts and Tech's school play but the darn power kicked off and they had to cancel. But oh well I finished buying Christmas presents that weekend. That first Sunday though was a lot of fun, I went to church and then to Darla's (a friend from church) bridal shower which was tons of fun with lots of fun games, then it was off to Miss Andria's house for our life group alumni party also full of fun times. Then finally Tuesday I got to go back to my old stomping grounds of A&T with my trusty sidekick Jared Ramey for their fall play, which they did a great job at for their first play without me haha. Once the play was over we decided to hit...

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Before I do the synopsis just a quick word about this one. This is the first one I have done for these movies because the other parts came out before this blog was a thing. That being said, I do  recommend them because they are good (for the most part anyways). This is the final installment of J. R. R. Tolkien's Hobbit book (which the producers made into three movies for some reason (money, money, money)). The epic conclusion starts out with the dwarf company (plus one hobbit) holed up in the mines of Erebor and Smaug out destroying Lake Town. In an accurate (to the book) but kind of boring manner the dragon is killed by Bard (Luke Evans), a dad of three who becomes a key player as the movie progresses. Once Smaug is vanquished, Bard and a company of Wood Elves that showed up after the dragon was defeated (conveniently...) head over to the mine to get their share of the riches that belong to them. But instead of handing over the diamonds that belong to the Elves and the gold that...

Big Hero 6

Disney has done it again! They have made a robot movie with enough feels to make a grown woman cry (but not this woman! get back in there tear!). The movie starts out in sunny San Fransokyo with the main character Hiro (Ryan Potter), a nice young kid who loves robots (more accurately robot fighting and winning) but lacks the discipline to go anywhere with his skills. That is until his brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) takes him to his college to see all of the awesome inventions that can be made when a brilliant mind goes to work. This sparks a new fire inside of Hiro to get accepted to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and he starts creating a new type of bot for USF's exposition. But in a dramatic and sorrowful turn of events, the building catches fire and Tadashi is lost to the flames while trying to rescue a professor. Now Hiro is lost, he no longer wants to go to school or have anything to do with inventing. Until he finds his brother's most prized creation, Baymax...
