Winter Quarter Debrief

Hey guys! I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while. This quarter was super crazy towards the end. But now I am home and getting ready for Spring quarter so I will post more as I can, and if you want to ask for any specific posts please let me know by posting on the Facebook page (Ordinary Adventures of Sarah Hoot) or by contacting me through the blog itself (basically send me an email). And I think that I will be starting a new section of posts with recipes, and this summer will be a new series of posts about the #RameyRoadtrip so tune in for them starting in July.

And now for the debrief!

Well as I said Winter quarter was crazy, I was taking four classes for 19 credits: French, Math, Humanities, and French Comics. There were lots of books for this quarter seven for french comics and three for Humanities. All were very good and I will definitely keep all of them (and there will be a comic review of the books from Comics class eventually).

Along with my classes, I became an officer in the CWU Cosplay club and got cast for a French/English play. The play is titled Montjoie Palestine, which is a dramatic poem about the Six Day War in Palestine. We will be performing on Friday April 8 at 7 P.M., it is free to watch and for those interested will be in Hertz 119.

I have also been in the process of making a new cosplay! This one is going to be my new go-to if  I ever get it finished and will probably be my Halloween costume since it's costing lots of money to put it together. My cosplay is of Kaylee Frye from the show Firefly; for anyone that doesn't know the show Kaylee is the mechanic on the firefly class ship Serenity, I recommend watching the show since it is super good (though be warned, you will get attached and you will hate the ending). So far I have the parasol done, the patches for the coveralls, the shirt, and the boots  I am going to wear, the only thing left that I need to find (which is proving to be the toughest part of the whole outfit) are her coveralls. Like I said, if it ever gets done it will be my new go-to cosplay for any events where it's needed.

What else.....

Oh yes, big news. So since my last post I have gone to the gastroenterologist's and found out about some of my health problems. I was officially diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), basically what the deal is is that my body has a harder time processing certain foods which can lead to a variety of different issues. The doctor told me to do an elimination diet starting with doing a trial period of a Low FODMAP diet and then reintroducing certain foods to test my tolerance levels. Since  I went to the doctor's which was over Super Bowl weekend I have not taken any stomach medication, which is a big deal because before going to the doctor's I was taking meds almost every other day just to be able to eat. So that makes me super happy of course because now I can get ready for the roadtrip and the future.

Well that is my life up to date. I am doing really good and enjoying a much needed break at home and getting ready for the next quarter. Thanks for sticking around!
