Halloween 2014
There is always a first for everything and the Halloween of 2014 brought with it two different "firsts" for me. The first "first" was that I got to have two Halloweens: one back home with my friends and one at college with my other friends, the second was that it was the first time that I was able to do something else for Halloween besides helping with the church carnival.
My first Halloween was on the 25th of October and took place at the home of the Ramey family. Let me just say that these guys go all out for Halloween; their lawn was filled with gravestones, spiders, and an 18ft Grim Reaper, they also had plenty of terrifying treats for all of their guests, and let's not forget the haunted house that they put on every year (open to the public on Halloween night). It was so much fun to see lots of my friends from school again, I missed them all terribly especially the rap scallions Jesse Rutgers and Nathan Parkhurst. Oh and of course I invited my best friend Jessica Armstrong to join me, which meant the party was that much better. Only negative was that Jared made me go through the haunted house (which I was not thrilled about) and scared the daylights out of me, but I did get to experience the awesomeness of a Western Washington storm complete with monsoon rain. All together it was a great night and a great weekend at home.
The second Halloween actually took place on Halloween. This one was a lot more low key (plot twist for everybody who thought I was partying hard). My friend Sarah Compton (from Chi Alpha) and I got all dressed up in our costumes (we were both original characters: hers was an elf costume of sorts and mine was a Ravenclaw wizard), spent a little time at Boo-Central (if you have wee ones I recommend it, lots of free candy and crafts), and then went to the house of Corrine Card (our Chi Alpha core leader). Once there we hung out and waited for everyone and when everyone got there we started the real partying. We played Clue and Outburst, watched The Brothers Grimm, ate lots of Halloween treats, and even passed out treats for a group of trick-or-treaters (it was the first time Corrine ever had trick-or-treaters). Everyone's costumes were fun: Corrine and her boyfriend Christian (were Chuck and Ned the pie-man from Pushing Daisies), there was the Cat in the Hat and the two Things, a mermaid, Rosie the Riveter, two Barbie dolls, a slave girl (way to go Sierra with the controversial costumes), and others who forgot costumes, The party was a lot of fun and I can't wait until next year haha. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween.
P.S. If anyone is curious about what my costume looked like and the story behind it, it shall be uploaded soon.
