Big Hero 6

Disney has done it again! They have made a robot movie with enough feels to make a grown woman cry (but not this woman! get back in there tear!). The movie starts out in sunny San Fransokyo with the main character Hiro (Ryan Potter), a nice young kid who loves robots (more accurately robot fighting and winning) but lacks the discipline to go anywhere with his skills. That is until his brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) takes him to his college to see all of the awesome inventions that can be made when a brilliant mind goes to work. This sparks a new fire inside of Hiro to get accepted to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and he starts creating a new type of bot for USF's exposition. But in a dramatic and sorrowful turn of events, the building catches fire and Tadashi is lost to the flames while trying to rescue a professor.
Now Hiro is lost, he no longer wants to go to school or have anything to do with inventing. Until he finds his brother's most prized creation, Baymax, a robotic personal healthcare provider. Now he is again inspired but this time for revenge on the person that caused the fire that killed his brother. He enlists the aid of his new friends at SFIT: Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez), Wasabi No Ginger (Damon Wayans Jr.), Go Go Tomago (Jamie Chung), and Fred (T.J Miller); by combining their brains and personalities they create super alter egos capable of fighting against the man in the kabooki mask. But even after tracking him down Hiro is overwhelmed by his grief and need for revenge, which leads Hiro to try and reprogram Baymax to kill his brother's murderer. Now the Big Hero 6 members must unite to try and save one of their own from making a horrible mistake as he tries to get his revenge on a man whose motives are as complicated as the robots that Hiro builds.
I thought this movie was really good and very well thought out for a children's movie. I was super impressed that Disney actually managed to pull together a superhero movie which is a genre that they have never done (they even had a Stan Lee cameo, watch closely for it). This movie was a roller coaster of emotions, there were parts that killed me with laughter and those that put me on the verge of tears. The best part for me was when Baymax's battery starts dying and he is stumbling around the house making weird noises (Hairy Baby!). I would highly recommend this movie for any family with kids who love superheroes and robots or just a couple of college kids looking to remain kids at heart (#Kyle Godsey and I). I do not have any negative things to say about this movie, so well done Disney! So 5 out of 5 stars from me!!
