Ramey Road Trip Day 1: The Adventure Begins

"Home is behind and the World is ahead."

The time has come faithful readers! The summer adventure that we have all been waiting for (or at least I have been waiting for)! THE RAMEY ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!

Well our trip started a day earlier than originally planned because the navigator and chief trip planner Mama Ramey wanted to avoid the Eastbound traffic heading out of the state. So we left today instead. I came over early to put my stuff in the "RameyMobile" (my name for the RV that will be our home for the next month or so) and make sure that Jared had all of his stuff since he procrastinates like nobody's business.

Really quick before going any further in the post I will say thank you to my sister for letting me use her camera on the trip. My little point-and-shoot camera just is not of the same caliber and we are not even going to talk about my phone camera (which is too bad to even mention). So I will have some good pictures of the trip, the majority of which will be uploaded to the Facebook page if you want to look at them (it is way easier that way and that way my posts aren't ridiculously long).

I will also be placing some geocaching travel bugs at some point for my brothers. Travel bugs, for those who are not cachers, are little key chains that you place in a geocache and they have stories from the original placer that go along with them. The goal of the travel bug is to take it from one cache to another, sometimes to a specific location that the owner wants to get to, and log where it's at for someone else to find it. My grandparents, who are avid cachers, bought one for each of their "Hootlings" while they were in Mexico: mine is a wooden duck, Micah's is a monkey (I think), Emily's is a flipflop, and Jacob's is a clown fish. Mine and Emily's are placed already and I will place the boys' on the trip.

We left the house around 4:30 p.m. and headed out to our first stop, Ellensburg Washington. We made it all the way to North Bend where we stopped for gas and dinner (a gourmet meal of Taco Time) and then hit the road again. After passing a massive accident on the freeway (looked like two cars, both very badly damaged with someone trapped in one of the cars) we made it to the KOA in Ellensburg where we are staying for the night. All of the Ramey children, plus one Sarah Hoot, played on the park like cool kids for a bit since the pool was already closed (we got to the KOA around 7:40). Now we are just hanging out before we turn in for the night, no fire for us since there is a burn ban in the 'Burg right now (as usual in the summer).

Well that is the wrap up for the first day of our trip! Not too much went down but it is an adventure none-the-less. I will try and post as often as I can with daily updates but I am not sure what the Wi-Fi situation will be like each day so bear with me. Keep on reading! Enjoy!
